Rates and fees
What rate will I get today?
The rate for your deal is confirmed in chat, and the table on the rates page shows where it stands. On 4 September 2026 the office bought 50 and 100 USD notes at 32.5 THB, euro at 37.71 THB and pounds at 43.99 THB. Send your amount and we answer with the working figure.
Do you charge a commission on top of the rate?
No. CAT Exchange quotes a net rate, which means the commission is already inside the number you agree. Nothing is added for counting the notes, for the receipt or for handing over the baht. The only separate charge is delivery outside Bang Tao, which is agreed before the courier leaves.
How long does a quoted rate stay valid?
Sixty minutes from the moment you confirm the deal in chat. Inside that hour the market can move and your number stays fixed, which is enough time to reach the office from Layan, Surin or Laguna. After the hour we quote again against the current market.
Why does the rate differ by denomination?
Large clean notes carry a higher rate than small ones, because Thai banks pay more for them. On 4 September 2026 USD is quoted in three tiers: 32.5 THB for 50 and 100 dollar notes, 32.33 THB for 5 to 20, and 31.84 THB for 1 and 2 dollar notes.
Is the rate different for a large amount?
Large amounts are quoted individually rather than taken from the table. For SBP transfers the published threshold is 50,000 THB, above which the rate is set for the specific deal. For cash, send the currency, the sum and the day, and we reply with a figure for that size.
Is the rate on the website final?
No, the website rate is a reference from the latest snapshot. Rates move during the day, so the number that binds is the one confirmed in your chat for your amount. Treat the table as a way to plan the trip, not as a promise.
Documents
Do I need a passport to exchange cash?
Yes. Thai identification rules apply to cash exchange, so bring your passport for any operation where cash changes hands, in the office or with a courier. Without it we cannot complete a cash exchange.
Is a photo of my passport enough?
No, a photograph on a phone does not satisfy the identification requirement for cash. Bring the passport itself. If you cannot, use a remote direction instead: an SBP transfer or a USDT payout to your Thai bank card needs no document.
Do I need documents for a remote exchange?
No document is required when nothing physical changes hands. An SBP transfer from a Russian bank paid to your Thai card, or a USDT sale settled to a Thai bank account, is completed through the chat and the banking apps alone.
Do I get any confirmation of the operation?
Yes, an electronic receipt for the operation is sent after it completes. Keep it with the chat where you agreed the rate. For property payments the paperwork is heavier and is discussed on the property payments page.
Cash currencies
Which currencies do you exchange?
Thirteen cash currencies convert to Thai baht: USD, EUR, GBP, RUB, CNY, AUD, CHF, MYR, SGD, HKD, TWD, CAD and AED. All of them are listed with current figures on the rates page, and details of the process are on the cash exchange page.
Do you accept old white US dollars?
Yes, pre-2006 white-series dollars are accepted at a lower rate than the newer blue notes. Photograph the note and send it in chat before you travel, and we will name the exact rate for that series and denomination.
What about torn or marked notes?
Send a photo before you come. Notes with tears, ink, stamps or heavy wear are priced individually and sometimes cannot be taken at all, because Thai banks apply the same scrutiny to them. Clean notes always trade at the table rate.
Which yuan notes carry a higher rate?
Chinese 50 and 100 yuan notes carry the higher tier, bought at 4.81 THB on 4 September 2026. Smaller yuan denominations are quoted lower, in the same way as small dollar notes. Details are on the CNY to THB page.
Can I buy foreign currency for baht?
Yes, the sell direction works, subject to what is in stock that day. Send the currency and the amount in chat, and we confirm availability and the sell rate before you come. The table shows both the buy and the sell column.
USDT
Can I sell USDT for baht in Phuket?
Yes. CAT Exchange converts USDT into Thai baht as cash at the Bang Tao office or as a transfer to a Thai bank account at SCB, Kasikorn and other banks. Send the amount in chat first and follow the details on the USDT to THB page.
Which network should I use for the transfer?
Confirm the network in chat before you send anything. Exchangers in Thailand most often work with USDT on TRC20 as of 2026, but the network and the wallet address for your specific deal are given to you in the conversation, never taken from a public page.
Do I need a Thai bank account for a USDT payout?
Only if you want the money in a bank. Payouts go to a Thai account at SCB, Kasikorn or another local bank, or as cash at the office or by courier. Choose the method when you send the amount.
Is a passport required for a USDT exchange?
Not for a remote payout to your Thai bank card, since no cash changes hands. If you choose to receive baht as cash, in the office or by courier, bring your passport like any other cash operation.
USDT converts to Thai baht as cash at the CAT Exchange office in Bang Tao or as a transfer to a Thai bank account. Confirm the network and the receiving method in chat before sending anything, and never use wallet details taken from a third-party page.
Roubles and SBP
Can I transfer roubles from a Russian bank?
Yes, through SBP. The transfer arrives from your Russian bank and you receive Thai baht as cash or straight to your Thai card. The process, minimums and thresholds are set out on the SBP transfer page.
What is the minimum for an SBP transfer?
The minimum is 10,000 THB per transfer. Below that amount the direction does not run. From 50,000 THB the rate is quoted individually for the specific transfer, so send the exact sum before you press send in your banking app.
Can I exchange rouble cash?
Yes. Rouble notes are bought at 0.315 THB per rouble on 4 September 2026, at the office or through delivery. Bring your passport for a cash operation. The RUB to THB page covers the cash direction in detail.
Can the baht go to my Thai card instead of cash?
Yes. For SBP and USDT the payout can be sent to your Thai bank card or account, which removes both the trip and the passport requirement. Say which bank and which method when you send the amount.
Delivery
Do you deliver cash across Phuket?
Yes, delivery covers the whole island. Inside Bang Tao it is free. For other districts the fee is calculated from the amount and the distance and named in chat before the courier leaves. Full conditions are on the cash delivery page.
How do I order a delivery?
Send four things: the amount, the currency, your location on Phuket and the time that suits you. We answer with the net rate, hold it for 60 minutes after your confirmation, and add the delivery fee if you are outside Bang Tao.
What time can a courier come?
Delivery runs during office hours, 09:00 to 21:00, seven days a week. Evening runs are worth booking earlier in the day, because the amount and the route are prepared in advance rather than assembled on the spot.
Does delivery change the rate?
No. The rate for a delivered exchange is the same net rate as at the counter. Delivery outside Bang Tao is charged as a separate line that you see before you agree, and it is never folded into the rate.

Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed for a normal amount. Writing ahead still helps: you get the rate confirmed and held for 60 minutes, and for a large sum you get the cash prepared for a specific hour.
