What rate do cash rubles get?

Cash rubles or a transfer, which is better?

Choose by amount and by what you already hold. Small sums that are already in your pocket go through the counter. Anything from 10,000 THB upward, and anything still in a Russian account, goes through SBP.

Carrying a large amount of ruble cash across borders creates its own problems: declaration thresholds on departure, the risk in transit, and the wider spread on arrival. A transfer removes all three at the cost of needing a phone and a working bank app.

If you already have a Thai bank account at SCB, Kasikorn or another local bank, a payout to your Thai card is the cleanest ending.

If you do not, take the cash, and ask for cash delivery when the amount is large enough that you would rather not drive with it.

What is realistic in 2026?
